Step 1
Make sure your hands are clean
The centre buttonhole goes at the front
At the back of your neck put one end through the loop
Start a normal knot at the front

Step 2
Put your hand in front of the stock
Bring the top end in a loop around your hand
To the same side as the other end
Don't twist, keep everything flat

Using the hand that is in the loop
Pull the lower end through the loop
Don't let anything twist
Gently pull both ends

Step 4
Pull the two ends to tighten the knot
Fiddle with the knot to make it square
Make sure the ends don't twist

Step 5
Fold both ends across the centre
So there is no peep hole under the knot
Place the pin quite high
Traditionally you should use safety pins
To hold the ends down
